After contacting 9 different owner/managers, I've found that we have a pretty good deal with what we have. Our rooms will be in the Copper One building (unless unforeseen changes are made outside of our control) which is a great location for views, access to sessions, access to the conference main events, and an easy walk to catch the shuttle for the sessions in East Village.

Our reservations are for June 23-27. Checkin isn't until 4 p.m. and checkout is 10 a.m. (with no late checkouts.) If you want to come up the day before (June 22 checkin), I think that it will be approximately $50-75 for each person wanting to come up early. I'll let you know the amount when I know who wants to take advantage of that. If you don't want to come up early, then there's no money involved. Patty has taken care of June 23-26 for us.
I believe that there will be enough beds -- just to be on the safe side, if you have an air mattress, you may want to bring it and any linens with you. Otherwise, the linens are provided for the beds and bathrooms.
Take a few minutes to review the Village map before you drive up. Notice the big red star -- that is where you need to check in whether you come on the 22nd or the 23rd.Questions so far? Next decision...who will be driving and do we want to carpool? When is everyone planning on arriving in Copper?
Even though it will probably make for an early morning on the 23rd, I don't think I'll be going up a day early. I already requested time off from the fruit store, plus I don't want to leave Michelle home with both kids any longer than I have to. I'd definitely be interested in carpooling up on the 23rd.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is going up early and staying the night of the 22nd, will that mean that folks showing up the 23rd will be able to get into the unit and dump our bags prior to the 4 p.m. check-in time?
Also, is there high-speed Internet in the condo? Wi-fi?
Fine by me if people want to dump their bags in my room. I'll be up there early for the library pre-conference.
ReplyDeleteConference provided wi-fi is available -- but, I found that they turn it off at night. And, it wasn't a very strong signal -- it was agonizingly slow in the condos. Hopefully, it will be better this year.
I'm a night owl and I like to do my online reading and organize my notes late at night. Last year, I purchased the ridiculously expensive access for $10/day. Maybe that is something we could share.
