Bummer...

I just received an email that our rooms WON'T be in Copper One unless we want to pay $300 more to guarantee that building. It looks as though the room sizes will still be the same: the rooms for 3 will have one bedroom, a den, and a foldout sleeper couch. The other unit will have one bedroom and a sleeper couch. (I still recommend bringing that air mattress.)

They could, however, be in any of the Center Village buildings; just not necessarily in the same building. We won't know which building we will be in until check in.

At check in, here's the order of buildings to request for the first person to check into each condo unit:
  • Copper One (best wireless reception and closest to the conference center)
  • Copper Junction
  • Mountain Plaza
  • The Mill Club
These are closest to most of the events and are very convenient for shuttles. I'm also trying to stay as close as possible to the wireless access points provided by the conference.

FYI: You will need to provide a credit card when you check in to cover any extras you may order. Last year, for example, I purchased daily wireless access for $10/day.

  1. So the only wi-fi is supplied by the conference? Is in-room wired broadband an option?

  2. The conference supplies free wi-fi, but I couldn't connect in the evenings. I don't know if broadband was available. It may tell you somewhere on the Copper Resort site. I purchased the wireless option, through the hotel, for $10 per day so I could connect from anywhere. I could connect fairly well from anywhere in the Village. They had issues with the wireless in the East Village. I just took notes on my Google Docs (Google Gears) so everything would sync eventually.

    Which reminds me...

Trying to charge your laptop during a 2-3 hr session was always an issue (especially during the 2nd or 3rd session of the day) -- sometimes all available outlets were used. Pack a power strip -- you, and 4-5 of your closest new best friends will be glad you did.

  3. Would it do any good for getting Copper One if someone did go up early?
